“The beach scenes are for pure enjoyment and my intent is to convey a sense of freedom and happiness. They are often excessively textured with colours that rejoice in the fun and pleasure of a day in the sun at the beach. For some the beach scenes can be nostalgic journeys back in time conjuring pleasurable memories of time spent with family and friends. I often paint with a defined horizon line to create a feeling of an endless sky and a beach that rolls on and on.” – Rebecca
