BEC PIERCE the label commenced in the early eighties. It grew from consigning simple hand-painted Tshirts to a brand that encompassed fashion clothing for women and children through to accessories, homewares and Australiana that sold Australia wide and internationally.
In the early naughties, Rebecca commenced painting on canvas and took a break from fashion. In 2023 the BEC PIERCE AUSTRALIA label is being reprised commencing with a small range of scarves, shawls, oversized cushions, bucket hats and tote bags.
Reflecting on the brand’s past and retaining the values and commitment to quality at its core, the label has been reimagined. In the past, Rebecca hand drew and painted individual designs on paper, stepping up and repeating for screen printed continuous yardage. Today, ISO Certified digital files are made from selected, original, mixed media and acrylic paintings, which are to be used to digitally print on silk, cashmere blends and cotton.
It is very important to Rebecca that, like in the past, the future of the label aligns with community service collaborations. Rebecca’s designs will again feature on charity and not for profit organisations’ educational and promotional materials.
Sit on my Face
To be launched late 2024 with a focus on imagery taken from a selection of Rebecca’s original mixed media paintings. SIT ON MY FACE is all about fun and colour and not dissimilar to a paintings’ capacity to alter the mood in a room. The intent is that these oversized cushions may do the same.
The cushion covers are in 100% washable cotton and feature full coverage print. They play on Rebecca’s love of bright, saturated colour and are adorned and decorated with contrasting textures such as tassels, faux fur and detailed stitching.
